We developed an agility assessment platform to help organizations increase efficiency and ROI

Our client’s backstory

Our client became known for their software product that encourages organizations, corporations, and enterprises to make continuous improvement part of their business strategy with tools based on valuable and relevant data. They currently serve around 40k organizations in 140 countries, including some of the biggest names among Fortune 500 companies.

They started in 2015 and partnered with Klika to turn their vision into a tangible digital product. The idea revolved around creating a web application enabling agility assessment and measuring improvement across an organization through relevant data analysis and comparison to similar companies and parameters defined as professional agility standards.

The challenges

The first major challenge was determining fair metrics that measure organizational agility and provide objective insights into agile practices across a company. The next was identifying an approach to data collection as they would need to be generated from different sources within an organization. All the existing systems and databases must be compatible with the new agility assessment platform to enable real-time and accurate reports.

Another big step was defining scalability and customization capabilities and making sure the new platform could adapt to the individual processes of any company.

Since agile practices tend to evolve and change over time, our team was to ensure the platform was flexible enough to support any changes and quickly adapt to new improvements and methodologies.

Envisioned as a new tool in the market, the assessment platform needed to be a simple-to-use solution with a functional design and effortless onboarding to win over new users and ease customer acquisition.

Klika solution

We started with a well-defined roadmap we developed with our client. Since the company was a startup back then, our team’s input was not only expected but crucial to the entire project's success.

We set up a dedicated team of front-end and back-end developers and had a UX/UI designer oversee the entire process continuously. We guided the client in picking the most fitting technology stack, focusing on software tools and processes that can do an excellent job at a reasonable cost but also come with long-term benefits, i.e., supporting future scaling, further feature development, simple integration, AI features, etc.

We strongly emphasized automation testing to enhance the SDLC, so we relied on test-driven development, improving the entire design and technical quality.

We developed dozens of features to ensure any company can reach insightful and relevant conclusions about their team performance, efficiency of project management tools, Scrum master practices, and overall goals.

Connecting various data points into a cohesive system allowed users to quickly gather information on their agility practices and teams from their preferred sources and compare them against industry standards, the Comparative Agility Index, or other organizations. With self-assessment surveys, they can quickly pinpoint where they struggle the most and which aspects to focus on. Similarly, the dashboard lets them compare data from various points in time, which allows companies to spot quickly if improvement efforts had any effect.

Enabling smooth integration and plugins with various tools and external databases (along with customization), we ensured data accuracy and real-time reporting were at the highest level, and users could trust the process and the result.

After the initial success, our team remained the core development team, helping with new upgrades and maintenance, customer onboarding, and tutorial prep work. Recently, we completely redesigned the application, giving it a more modern feel, adding more features, and extending its capabilities.

Results

The assessment agility platform became a favorite, mostly among medium and large corporations, and as it matures, it attracts more and more Fortune 500 brands. After the application redesign, users increased to around 40k organizations in 140 countries. The platform became a massive data source with over 12M data points that can be used for comparison and agility assessment.
